There are a lot of things that go into
planning a wedding. At first, when all the big things are planned it seems as
if you are totally prepared. The venue is booked at least 12 months ahead of
time in most cases. The photographer has to take your engagement pictures so
you have them at least 10 months ahead of time. If you are hiring a caterer
then that needs to be planned at least 6 months in advance. DJs can be a little
closer to time. Wedding cake and flowers need about 4 months. But, after all of
that you are done, right?!
Not so much. There are so many small details
to focus on. One thing we will focus on today is guest tables. A lot of thought
can go into these little details on the table. Should you go with centerpieces
or more of a collective decorations? Tall decorations or short decorations? The
options can really be endless. You can have flowers, candles, lanterns, wood
pieces, water pieces, lights, or really anything you want.
Next you have to think about how the place
mats look, don’t give it that much thought. You should be able to do whatever
you want on your wedding day, whether that’s gifting candy boxes to your entire
guest list or choosing to give out something a little more expensive (like gift
cards to a very unique place, which we find is a lot more tacky than
specialized candy boxes).
Ultimately, having a wedding is all about you
and your partner. You shouldn’t have to worry about how others thing about you,
or what they may conceive of your lifestyle when they walk into the venue right
when your big day is about to start. The biggest thing to keep in mind is that
these people, those who would actually judge you, aren’t the type of people you
should ever think about. The more time of day you waste on them, the more they
end up winning in whatever little game they’re trying to play. So instead,
realize the trap that is about to be set and do not consider them when doing everyday things.
